My Foot....

So I was picking out Frisky's feet this morning when she pulled it out of my hand and slammed it into my foot! I think that it broke my little toe but I am not 100% sure. Right now I am sitting with my leg up in the staff lounge, trying not to think of the pain. LOL Anyway... It will be OK though...
I have come to the conclusion that it is much better to look at the brighter side of things. It could have been much worse and she could have broken my foot! At least now I have an excuse to be slow...
It is my night off tonight and I still intend on having a great time.

Hope everyone is doing great. Take care

Love ya all

The BIG Swing!!!!

So last night we went up to the hill top to do the BIG Swing!!! It is a huge tree that has a swing from it. It is roughly 50 ft above ground. You sit on the platform and they clip you in and then push you off...
AJ tried to scare me and pulled me to the very edge of the platform before he clipped me in. Then he stood up and left me there by myself. The rope is heavy and pulls on you so I was leaning back so that I would not fall. Next thing AJ touched my back with his foot and I fell forward. It was AWESOME!!!

LIFE!!!!!

So life has been a rough unknown trail ride for me. Though I do believe that without the twists and turns that life would be boring, it can be trying at times.

Here at Kennolyn, I have worked through some huge changes in my life and made some life long friends.

(me being a pyromaniac on O-Ride :P )

With out the help of my Kennolyn friends I would not have had such a great summer. I know that the summer is not over yet but I feel that I don't share my feelings often enough.

To all the riding staff that help me EVERY day, I could never thank you enough, you all have saved me on more than one occasion. I could not ask for better horse people to work with. I love you all and hope that we stay in touch.

(*this is not all the Staff but it was the only one I had, there is 7 of us)

Meghan, Evie, Mer, Kate, IzzyTo Dan, you have helped me with so much and just been a sounding board for me when I needed it. You always push me to be better and believe in myself. I am learning to believe in myself, it is great to have someone who keeps me in line... Your help and kind/harsh words have put me in the right direction and I will never forget everything that you have done for me. I will miss you dearly when the summer is over. <3>

As far as this summer has gone, I have had the best time of my life. I am finding myself and becoming comfortable in my skin. I am happy and content.

There are many more people that I have to thank and in time I will.

I love and miss you all.

Trapeze!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So the Trapeze guys have been at camp for the last 2 weeks and this is the second time I got to try

The first time I tried last week I could not even get my legs over the bar. I could only try once since I had to go to the barn. So I tried again today...

I got my legs up on the first swing and it was AWESOME!!!!

Then I got to do it again and try a catch... I got it and it was a rush. I had to do it a second time so that I could get a video of it.
Hope you like it.

Overnight Ride

So, part of the equestrian program is that we take the kids on an overnight ride!!!

It is so much fun.

We usually tack 10 horses and ride down to the creek, a 45 min ride, then camp out. The camp site is really nice. We have a small "kitchen area" for cutting food and stuff, a nice camp fire site with logs all the way around, and then the counselors get to sleep on mattresses!!! To be in the middle of a redwood forest and watching the stars is really cool.

In the morning we ride back up and i spend the day just hanging out at the barn....

Here are a few pictures from the rides.

A new start

First thing first, I just graduated from West Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Equine Industry and Business/Agribusiness. I met my best friend there and miss her terribly.

I am spending the summer at Kennolyn, a summer camp in Soquel, CA. I am the Wrangler (Assistant Equestrian Coordinator) and spending all my days at the barn teaching riding lessons, taking care of the horses, and riding!!!!

At the end of August I am going to Europe for two months!!! I will see all that I can see and have a blast doing it.

I hope to find myself and become comfortable in my skin.

I will hopefully keep this updated.

Take care.

Love always
